Why I Love This Recipe

Looking for a simple way to change up your normal weeknight side dish rotation? Lemon Garlic Green Beans are quick and easy to make from ingredients you likely have on hand. They turn out perfectly tender and so flavorful, I can eat a bowl of them alone!

Lemon Garlic Green Beans are paleo, Whole30, and keto friendly simple vegetable to make for hurried weeknight dinners! They're tangy, sweet, and salty with savory pops of sautéed garlic. They are perfect to serve alongside recipes like Pork Chops With Brown Gravy, Italian Stuffed Peppers, or Pineapple Thyme Chicken Drumsticks.

Tips for steaming

Rinse the green beans well right before adding them to the skillet. The extra liquid (in addition to the ¼ cup of water) helps steam them with out drying out the pan too quickly.

Zesting citrus

Moreover, zest the lemon prior to juicing. It's too difficult to try and zest a lemon after it's been cut or juiced.

Dietary considerations

These stove top green beans are vegan, paleo, Whole30, and keto friendly! While many fruits are high in sugar and not appropriate for a keto diet, lemon juice is keto friendly. This recipe has 9g carbs and 6g net carbs per serving.
