- 1½ tablespoon light olive oil
Spices
- 2 tablespoon chili powder
- 1½ tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried mustard
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ⅛ teaspoon celery seed
- ⅛ teaspoon cayenne
Wet Ingredients
- ¾ cup ketchup*
- 1 cup water
- ¼ cup pineapple juice
- ¼ cup unsulphured molasses
- 2 tablespoon coconut aminos
Add oil to a sauce pan over MEDIUM heat. When very warm add spices: chili powder, garlic powder, paprika, dried mustard, cumin, salt, celery seed, and cayenne. Sauté stirring frequently until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
Add wet ingredients: ketchup, water, pineapple juice, unsulfured molasses, and coconut aminos. Stir until well combined. Bring to a boil then reduce heat to MEDIUM-LOW and simmer for 10 minutes stirring occasionally until reduced by ¼-⅓. Turn off the heat and allow the sauce to sit on the burner for an additional 5 minutes. The longer it sits, the thicker it will become. Enjoy!!
