- ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1½ teaspoon Homemade Italian Seasoning*
- 2 (6 oz) cans of tomato paste
- 1½ cups water
Warm olive oil in sauce pan on MED-LOW heat. When starting to warm add minced garlic and spices. Stir frequently for 2-3 minutes to toast garlic and spices and infuse the oil with flavor. If garlic starts to brown too quickly reduce heat.
Add tomato paste, stir to combine. Toast tomato paste, stirring frequently until slightly darker in color about 2-3 minutes.
Add water and mix until fully combined. Cover and simmer on low 5-10 minutes or longer. Serve warm.
*This recipe calls for my Homemade Italian Seasoning. You can definitely use store bought Italian Seasonings. However, the flavor results will vary.
