This 5-minute vinaigrette is bright and citrusy from fresh lemon juice and lemon zest. While honey adds the perfect amount of light sweetness, a Homemade Italian Seasoning and red wine vinegar rounds out the flavors of this sweet and zesty vinaigrette.

Why I Love This Recipe

Lemony Sweet Red Wine Vinaigrette is my family's hands down favorite dressing that I make. It is fresh, bright, and sweet with the perfect amount of punchy tang.

Moreover, this salad dressing isn't limited to salads! Lemony Sweet Italian Vinaigrette is also delicious as a marinade for chicken, pork, or fish. You could also use it in pasta salads.

We keep it on hand often and use it for quick side salads at dinner and lunchtime. Though it is delicious on salads with traditional Italian meals, it also tastes great alongside any of your favorite entrees.

Cooking Tips

Since this Lemony Sweet Red Wine Vinaigrette doesn't have fresh herbs or fresh garlic, it's shelf life is a little extended. You can store this vinaigrette for about 5 days covered at room temperature. Or you can store it in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. These are the salad dressing bottles I typically use.

Make sure you shake this salad dressing well before every use. This helps recombine the vinegar, oil, and spices that like to separate while it sits undisturbed.

If the oil solidifies in the refrigerator, hold it under hot running water for a couple minutes. Or you could sit it in a bowl or glass measuring cup filled with warm water. Give it a good shake before serving.

For the exact flavor intended in this recipe, use my Homemade Italian Seasoning. While you can use other store bought Italian Seasonings, the flavor results will vary.
